Seckel Sugar Pears are also known as Candy Pears, or just plain Sugar Pears. This wonderfully unique cultivar has received its affectionate nicknames due to the fact that it’s the smallest pear widely grown today! Seckel Sugar Pears naturally ripen at about half the size of regular pears such as Bartlett and D’Anjou, allowing for the Seckel tree to produce double the fruit! This naturally miniature fruit is a perfectly healthy snack for both children and adults, as it requires no slicing for little ones to enjoy!

Measuring at only three inches long, Seckel Sugar Pears are best picked when they have taken on their lime-green coloring. They are best left to gradually ripen off the tree in a dry place and will turn to become tinged with light-yellow coloring and a bright crimson blush when ripe! These uncommonly wonderful pears are also widely used in exquisite dishes and desserts! The sweetness and novelty of this miniature pear are equally important in making these culinary treats as delicious as they are beautiful. Seckel Sugar Pears are a wonderfully unique and delicious variety unlike any other that’s perfect for all uses of pears.
