Golden Rain Tree (Bare Root, 3 ft. to 4 ft. Tall)

Its compound leaves later show bright green and blue tones that are even further highlighted when the tree blooms bright sunny-yellow flowers. When these flowers drop their innumerable amounts of petals to carpet the underlying ground, it creates the illusion of a light golden-yellow rain, thus earning the tree its unique name. With long leaves that shift colors with the season and unmissable bursts of sunny blooms, the Golden Rain Tree is a true ornamental. Golden Rain Tree, botanical name Koelreuteria paniculata, is suited to USDA zones 6-9 and reaches a height/spread of 30 ft. to 40 ft. Foliage emerges with pinkish-bronze and violet tones and matures to bright blue green, turning yellow in fall. With its sunny-yellow elongated blossoms that appear to shoot out of the foliage, low watering requirements and neat growth habits, its easy to see why the Golden Rain Tree has become a worldwide favorite since its introduction to Europe and North America in the 1700s.
