Description

The Weeping White Birch Tree (Betula pendula ‘Youngii’) is a graceful ornamental tree prized for its cascading branches, brilliant white bark, and elegant year-round form. Unlike upright birch trees, this distinctive variety develops long, pendulous branches that sweep downward to create a soft, umbrella-like canopy. Its dark green, finely toothed leaves add movement and texture throughout spring and summer before turning a beautiful golden-yellow in fall. As the tree matures, the bright white bark becomes an increasingly dramatic landscape feature, providing striking color and interest even after the leaves have dropped.

The Weeping White Birch makes an outstanding specimen tree for front yards, entry gardens, patios, cottage landscapes, and smaller spaces where a full-size birch may be too large. Its naturally sculptural shape creates an eye-catching focal point and looks especially beautiful near lawns, garden beds, or water features. Hardy in USDA Zones 2–8, this cold-tolerant tree grows best in full sun to partial shade with moist, well-drained soil. Mature trees typically reach approximately 10–12 feet tall and 12–15 feet wide, forming a broad canopy of cascading branches.

With its snowy white bark, flowing growth habit, golden fall foliage, and compact size, the Weeping White Birch Tree brings distinctive character and four-season beauty to virtually any landscape
