The Dwarf Black Spruce is a highly compact dwarf conifer shrub that sports a naturally rounded spherical form, extremely delicate blue-green needles and an incredible tolerance of cold/heat and other harsh conditions. This small evergreen bush especially well placed in rock gardens or among larger plants where its finely textured needles can help to highlight nearby plants of different colors and sizes. Because it is native to North America, the Dwarf Black Spruce is well-accustomed to the harsh conditions experienced in the mountainous western United States such as extreme wind and cold and is cold hardy down to minus 40°F. The Dwarf Black Spruce Shrub lives most comfortably in USDA Cold Hardiness Zones 3-8 and reaches a compact height of 2 ft. and a width of 3 ft.
