Cold hardy all the way down to -35° F, famously rapid growers, and quickly providing a dense shade canopy means that there’s a lot to like about the Norway Maple Tree. Since it grows so quickly, this unique variety of maple is often selected to be planted in rows to lining a driveway, fence, or boundary. The dense foliage of Norway Maples provides both a natural border and heavy shade much faster than other maple trees! This feature also makes Norway Maples an attractive option to be planted along with newly constructed homes and buildings, or anywhere immediate shade is desired. Autumn brings a vivid and bright yellow hue to the normally light green foliage, giving this hardy cultivar the signature autumn appeal of of all maples! At maturity the Norway Maple is quite large, reaching a height of 60-70 feet with a spread of 40-60 feet. For rapid shade and cold tolerance, look no further than the fastest growing maple and exceptionally cold-hardy Norway Maple Tree!

What will you receive?

When you order a tree from Online Orchards, you can expect it to arrive packaged in one of two ways depending on the growing season. When the trees are dormant in November through June, the roots are dipped in a thick gelatinous hydrogel solution which really acts as a sponge of water surrounding the roots that the tree can pull moisture from as needed during its time in shipment! After being dipped, the roots are then sealed in an airtight green wrap that both holds the hydrogel in place and protects the roots. If you order a tree between the months of June and October, when the weather becomes to warm to ship bare-root trees any longer, you can expect to receive them growing in a tall pot filled with shavings, sawdust, or soil, depending on what's best for your specific variety of tree!
