Cold Hardy Trees and Shrubs

These especially tough trees, shrubs and grasses are specially selected due to their ability to withstand below freezing temperatures, strong icy winds, and overall harsh winters. All are cold hardy down to -20° F (USDA Hardiness Zone 5), and most are hardy down to -30° F (USDA Hardiness Zone 4). Some plants like the Dwarf Mountain Pine are cold hardy down to even -40° F!
