What’s great about the Purple Autumn Ash?

The tiny dark green leaves turn to become a unique shade of dark purple! This color is quite rare among all trees, and especially unique as an autumn color. Additionally, their small leaves tend to blow away in in the wind since they are incredibly lightweight, leaving sparsely any leaves needing to be raked. This makes for considerably less hours spent cleaning up when compared to other popular shade varieties like heavy-leaved maple trees. Also, Purple Autumn attain a symmetrical globe-shaped form as they grow, making them an appealing option as a sidewalk or street tree.

Purple Autumn Ash trees are famously resilient and can even grow in land which is flooded for three months out of the year! For this reason, Purple Autumn Ash are an excellent choice for erosion control.
