The Lime Glow Barberry sports its namesake unique lime-green foliage, powerful heat and sun resistance uncommon among yellow-leaved shrubs and small but formidable thorns that make it excellent for borders and barriers. Bright yellow new growth emerges from the tips of the limbs, which eventually matures into the bright lime-green color that gives this bush its name. This lovely color scheme of yellow against green is enjoyed until autumn, when the leaves turn a brilliant shade of red-orange. Lime Glow performs exceptionally well when planted in full sun and the leaves will not become sunburned as easily as other yellow-leaved plants. The Royal Burgundy Barberry lives most comfortably in USDA Cold Hardiness Zones 4 to 8 and reaches an equal height and width of 3 ft.
