Prairie Spy Apple Tree - Cold hardy and autumn-ripening. (2 years old and 3-4 feet tall.)
What’s great about the Prairie Spy Apple Tree?
- Prairie Spy was originally developed in Minnesota to be the apple that orchards could grow in regions generally considered to be too cold and harsh for commercial apple production. Over the years newer cold-hardy varieties have become more popular, but Prairie Spy remains an excellent choice for homegrowing sweet flavorful apples from Montana to New York.
- Prairie Spy ripens from late September to early October, typically after other apples have fallen off the tree.
- Prairie Spy is an incredibly resilient and well-flavored apple variety that has been widely planted and enjoyed for almost a century!
- Prairie Spy is a beautiful red apple with cream-colored streaks running across the large fruit. It’s also very sweet when ripe and great for both baking and cooking.
